UPDATE ON SILVER ALERT

The silver alert for Joan M. Rebar remains in effect. Rebar a 70-year-old Native American female, Ht. 506, 230lbs, blue eyes and brown hair. Subject was last seen at the Meriden, Kansas VFW in the early morning hours of September 26th. Subject drives a silver 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Subject may have been driving from Meriden in Jefferson County to the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation crossing northern Shawnee County and southern Jackson County.

Currently, there are no persons of interest in her disappearance. The last ping on Rebar’s cell phone was on September 26th in the afternoon. At that time her phone may have been within 7 miles of Meriden, Kansas. If individuals reside in or have property in this three county area, we are asking that they check it in case Ms. Rebar’s vehicle may have left the roadway.

The three county area has been searched by law enforcement, volunteers and aircraft. The Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism have used sonar to search Perry Lake on Saturday.
