The Investigations Division of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is under the direction of  Lt. Tyler Caudle.  The Investigations Division has the  reputation of being proactive yet thorough  in solving major crimes.   Investigators investigate a variety of crimes such as thefts, burglaries, narcotics, sex crimes, financial crimes and homicides.   The Investigations Division has a higher than average clearance rate and conviction rate on criminal investigations.  The Investigations Division works daily with agencies from local, state and federal levels on cases not only in Jackson County, but in surrounding jurisdictions in Northeast Kansas.  The JASO Investigations Division is associated with the Capital City Area Major Case Squad and has assisted on major case squad homicide investigations.

JASO Investigators use their training and experience to train, and assist other law enforcement officers by teaching classes and by offering guidance in the field.  Investigators are certified instructors in several topics and have been guest instructors at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.  Every year Investigators take time away from their daily duties to assist in the Annual Sheriff’s Office Day Camp.
