Alleged Shooter Captured
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Holton Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of 5th and Arizona in Holton shortly before 5 pm on Friday evening. It was reported that the shooting suspect was seen driving south out of Holton at a high rate of speed in a blue Eclipse. Deputies located the driver and vehicle in Denison approximately 10 minutes later and initiated a car stop where the driver was taken into custody. The alledged shooter was identified as Joshua Joseph Myers 23, of Ozawkie. Myers allegedly fired a 9mm handgun from his vehicle at another man who was standing across the street from the alleged shooter. The victim was not injured in the incident. The matter remains under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Holton Police Department. Myers was booked into the Jackson County Jail where bond was set at $300,000.00.
