K9 Unit

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has had the K-9 Program for over 20 years.  The purpose of the program is to aid in the apprehension of narco-traffickers who transport illegal narcotics into Jackson County.  The K-9 Program also assists with schools within Jackson County in an effort to keep our schools drug free. Three Jackson County Deputies are assigned to the K-9 Unit.  Deputy Kendal Grimm and his Belgian Malinois partner, Kreto and Sgt. Travis Spiker and his Belgian Malinois, Ike.  Deputy Lane Slocum is paired with his Belgian Malinois partner, Mate.  These deputies are committed in keeping illegal narcotics out of the hands of our children and keeping our community safe. Each K-9 is a multi-purpose dog trained in narcotic detection, officer protection and tracking.
