The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Kansas-certified law enforcement officers who are motivated, proactive, and committed to serving their community as Deputy Sheriffs.
Jackson County offers a variety of law enforcement opportunities. U.S. Highway 75 runs through the county, which is home to the region’s largest tribal casino, with two additional casinos located along our northern border. POSITION TYPE: Full-Time
STARTING SALARY: $57,776 per year for Kansas-certified officers with less than two years of law enforcement experience. Higher starting salaries may be available based on prior experience.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Deputies work 12-hour shifts, with a three-day weekend every other week. Shifts rotate throughout the year, allowing deputies to work both day and night shifts and gain experience working various hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a Kansas-certified law enforcement officer.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must successfully complete applicant testing, a background investigation, a psychological examination, and drug screening.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules, including assigned shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment.
• Must be of good moral character and have no felony or domestic battery convictions.

CORRECTIONS OFFICER
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking applicants that have the desire to work as a corrections officer.
TYPE: Full Time
SALARY: $23.58/Hr. with no experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The following are requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED). Must be able to pass applicant testing, psychological exam and drug screening. Must be able to pass a thorough background check with no felony or domestic convictions, drug-related offenses or serious misdemeanors. We offer a competitive pay and benefit package.

PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking applicants that have the desire to work as a public safety dispatcher. The following are requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED). Must be able to pass the applicant testing, background investigation, psychological exam and drug screening. Must be open to scheduling flexibility (must have the ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays)must be able to accurately type at least 30 wpm, multi-task and have excellent customer service, which are fundamental to employment. Previous public safety dispatching experience is preferred, but not required. Successful applicants will become certified in Emergency Medical Dispatching and NCIC within 6 months of hire and maintain all necessary certifications as required. Public safety dispatcher duties include, but are not limited to, answering 9-1-1 telephones, transmitting vital information to emergency personnel via the radio, relaying information via Computer-Aided Dispatch, and answering administrative lines serving the Law Enforcement/EMS/Fire personnel.
