JASO Kid’s Camp

Daycamp 2014 Archery 2Jackson County Sheriff’s Office hosts an annual Kid’s Day Camp. This camp is to establish a positive relationship between kids and Law Enforcement.  Day Camp gives kids an understanding of law enforcement duties and assignments. Day Camp gives kids the opportunity to become familiar with deputies and officers who work in the area.   We have volunteers from many other law enforcement agencies as well as local fire and emergency medical service departments at the camp.

At the camp we do many different activities to promote safety and awareness. To list just a few, boating, water safety and seat belt safety. There are other educational activities such as fishing, a wildlife skins and fur presentation and archery. The kids will also have some fun obstacle courses to run.

This year the camp will be hosted on Thursday, August 8th and Friday, August 9th, 2019. Registration forms will be available to be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office dispatch window starting Friday, May 15, 2019 or they can be downloaded from this site. There is a $10 registration fee per child. Registration will close on August 1st with any forms being turned in after this point may risk not being provided with a camp shirt for the current year. Items we provide for the kids are a water bottle, camp bag, fishing pole, snacks and lunch. We ask that kids wear tennis shoes to camp, as there is a lot of walking involved in the two days.
