Conceal Carry
The Jackson County Sheriff is responsible for processing all Concealed Carry Applications for the citizens of Jackson County. To qualify, applicants must complete an 8 hour training course with an approved instructor. A list of instructors can be found on the Attorney Generals Website (www.ksag.org). An application must be completed by the applicant and brought to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office along with a 2 x 2 passport type photo, a copy of their driver’s license, and certificate of completion of the training course. Fingerprints will be taken by our office. Payment is required at the time of processing the application with check or money orders in the amounts of $100.00 to the Office of the Attorney General and $32.50 to the Jackson County Sheriff.
Appointments for processing applications can be made by calling our office at 364-2251 Monday thru Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
