SUSPECT ARRESTED FOLLOWING PURSUIT AND CRASH
Tyler Michael Area, 20 of Mayetta, was arrested Thursday night following a short pursuit and motorcycle crash in Jackson County. At approximately 21:30 hours, a Jackson County Deputy attempted to stop Area for a traffic infraction on US Hwy 75 south of 142nd Road. Area had been traveling northbound on a 2001 Aprilia motorcycle when the deputy signaled the motorcycle to stop. Area allegedly attempted to elude the deputy and turned east on 142nd when he lost control and crashed on 142nd Road. The pursuit lasted approximately a minute. Area responders and EMS were summoned to the scene where Area refused medical treatment. Area was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail where he was charged with fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer, reckless driving and operating a motorcycle with no motorcycle endorsement. Bond on area is pending at this time.
