BURGLARY SUSPECT ARRESTED

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on a Topeka residence Wednesday afternoon. Jackson County authorities served a search warrant at 2014 SE Hudson Street in Topeka. The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into a burglary to a vehicle that was parked at the Royal Valley Schools in Hoyt. The report was made on May 23, 2015. Edgar Leon Lopez-Cardona, 27 of Topeka, was arrested at the Topeka residence. Lopez-Cardona is suspected of stealing identification and financial cards from the vehicle. The financial cards were used to purchase over $1,500.00 of property at various stores in Topeka and Lawrence. Items believed to be purchased by Lopez-Cardona with the financial cards were seized from the residence. Lopez-Cardona is being booked into the Jackson County Jail where bond is pending. Lopez-Cardona is being charged with burglary and felony theft. The Topeka Police Department assisted with the search warrant.
