Two arrested during Friday evening traffic stop
JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that on April 19, 2024, around 9:30 P.M., Jackson County Sheriff Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 truck for a traffic infraction near 150th and U.S. Hwy 75. The investigation into the traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Gail Leon Bennett Jr, 51, of Topeka, was arrested and charged with driving while revoked, driving while a habitual violator, no liability insurance, and probation violation.
The passenger, Cassandra Elizabeth Brown, 44, of Topeka, was arrested and charged with: possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
