Sabetha man arrested on meth charges

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that on April 7, 2024, around 3 A.M., a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a blue in color 2010 Nissan Sentra for a traffic infraction near 150th and Q. Roads in rural Mayetta. The vehicle was driven by Steven Gregory Thorne, 27, of Sabetha. During the traffic stop illegal drug paraphernalia was observed within the vehicle resulting in a probable cause search. The search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 15.1 grams of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Thorne was arrested for distribute methamphetamine greater than 3.5 grams, possession of methamphetamine, and possession drug paraphernalia. Thorne was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
