Topeka man in custody following burglary to local business
JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that a Topeka man is in custody following a burglary to a business. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a vehicle in the roadway north of the One Stop Gas Station located at 190th and US Hwy 75 around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning. A Jackson County Deputy found the vehicle abandoned in the roadway. A Tribal Police Officer found the front window of the business broke out and a male dressed in dark clothing fleeing on foot. Jackson County Deputies and K-9s responded to the scene along with an aircraft unit from KHP to search for the suspect. Deputies took the suspect into custody near 178th Road and U.S. 75 Hwy around 5:15 a.m. Colby Christopher Kastens, 44, of Topeka was placed under arrested by Jackson County Sheriff Deputies and Tribal Police.
