Oskaloosa woman arrested on drug and identity theft charges

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports an Oskaloosa woman is in Jail following an early Tuesday morning traffic stop near 150th and Q. Road in Jackson County. A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy stopped the woman in a 2005 Nissan Altima for a traffic infraction around 4 a.m. The woman allegedly provided a false name to the deputy.  A Jackson County Sheriff’s K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics within the vehicle. Deputies’ located contraband believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The woman was identified as Stephanie Renee Meier, 35, of Oskaloosa.  Meier was booked into the Jackson County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, identity theft, interference with law enforcement, and driving while suspended. Meier was wanted on a number of outstanding out of state warrants.
