Mayetta Man in Custody
On November 21st, 2015 at approximately 00:45 hours the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Potawatomi Tribal Police responded to a residence located at 18836 M. Road in rural Mayetta on a report of a stabbing.
The alleged suspect, Wilson R. Noriega 49, of Mayetta, was taken into custody in connection to the death of a female victim at the residence. Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies and Potawatomi Tribal Police Officers were processing the scene throughout the morning.
The victim has been identified as Leann M. Sanchez 49, of Mayetta. Sanchez was found to be deceased on scene. Noriega is being held in the Jackson County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and 1st degree murder. Sanchez is believed to have been living at the residence with Noriega. Bond on Noriega has been set at $1,000,000.00.
