TRUCK DRIVER DIES NEAR NETAWAKA

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was notified after 4 p.m. this afternoon of a large dump truck pulling a corn hauler trailer that had run off the roadway into a cornfield east of Netawaka on K-9 Hwy between S and T Roads. The truck driver and truck had been missing for a short period when it did not arrive at its destination in Whiting. When the truck was located deep inside the cornfield, the driver of the truck was found to be unresponsive. The Netawaka, Whiting and Holton Fire Departments, Jackson County EMS and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Life resuscitating efforts were unsuccessful and the driver, Edward Howard Holllingdale 58, of Holton, was declared deceased on scene. The truck had been traveling eastbound on K-9 Hwy.
