Two Topekans arrested during traffic stop

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that on May 1, 2024, at around 1:30 A.M.,  a Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy stopped an SUV for a traffic infraction. During the stop, illegal drug contraband was observed in plain view and a search of the car was initiated. Additionally, during the stop, methamphetamine was located. The driver identified as Melissa Brown, 54, of Topeka, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and driving while suspended. The passenger, Christian Rodriguez-Rodriguez, 41, of Topeka, was arrested for interference with law enforcement and also had an outstanding warrant through Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
