Berryton man arrested on multiple charges
JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a Cadillac Escalade for a registration violation near 142nd Road on U.S. Hwy 75 shortly before 2:30 P.M. Sunday afternoon. The driver, James Oliver Meredith Jr., 48, of Berryton, was arrested on an outstanding Jackson County warrant. Meredith faces additional charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, transporting an open container, no registration, operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device and no insurance. Meredith is currently being held in the Jackson County Jail.
