Three arrested during traffic stop

 JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 1992 Honda passenger car near 150th and U.S. Hwy 75 for traffic infractions around 9:30 P.M. Friday night.  During the course of the traffic stop, a Jackson County Sheriff’s K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal substances inside the vehicle. The driver, Michael Allin Cohorn, 53, of El Dorado, Kansas, was arrested for violating the Kansas offender registration act and driving while suspended. A passenger, Amanda Carol Martinez, 38, of Topeka, was arrested for distribution of methamphetamine. Another passenger of the vehicle, Sherra Dianne Stapleton, 45 of Topeka, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. All three were transported to and booked into the Jackson County Jail.
