Topeka woman held on drug charges

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that a 56-year-old Topeka woman is in custody on drug charges following a traffic stop in southern Jackson County Friday morning.  A Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the 2012 Toyota Camry near 142nd and U.S. Hwy 75 shortly before 11 A.M.  During the traffic stop, the deputy seized items believed to be drug contraband.  The driver, Lora Lee Longstaff, 56, of Topeka, was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail.  Longstaff was booked into the Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended. Additional substances were seized and awaiting testing; therefore, additional charges may occur.
