JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, that an inmate was found unresponsive shortly before 3 A.M. in the Jackson County Jail by Jail Staff. Attempts to revive the inmate by EMS was unsuccessful. According to procedure and state law, the Kansas Bureau of Investigations was notified to review the incident. Any further inquiries should be directed to the Kansas Bureau of Investigations.
