Lansing man arrested on felony drug distribution charges
Jackson County, Kan. (August 19, 2020) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer on US Hwy 75 near 302nd Road for a traffic infraction shortly after 10:30 pm Tuesday evening. The stop resulted in the arrest of the rear seat passenger who was identified as Damon Lynn Smith, 26, of Lansing, Kansas. Smith was booked into the Jackson County Jail for distribution of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp. Smith also had an outstanding warrant for distribution of a hallucinogenic drug out of Atchison, County, and three outstanding warrants out of Lyon County.
