Suspect in alleged sexual assault captured

Jamie Michael Woltje, 28, of Topeka was arrested on a Jackson County District Court warrant on Tuesday. Woltje was the subject of a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigation regarding allegations of sex crimes involving a minor child. A Jackson County District Court warrant was issued for Woltje on July 10th of this year for the following offenses: rape of a child under 14 years of age, aggravated criminal sodomy of a child under the age of 14 years of age, and aggravated indecent liberties with a child under the age of 14 years of age. The incident is believed to have taken place in March of 2015 in the City of Holton. Woltje was captured in Shawnee County on Tuesday evening by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force. Woltje is currently being held in the Shawnee County Jail. Bond on Woltje was set at $25,000.00.
