The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of a Lawrence man that is wanted on a number of felony charges. Michael Wayne Hooks, 41, of Lawrence is wanted on a Jackson County District Court warrant for Kidnapping, Rape, Aggravated Sodomy and Aggravated Burglary. Hooks has lived in the Lawrence, Kansas area and possibly may have fled to the Topeka or Wichita area. Hooks had recently worked as a door-to-door vacuum salesperson. Hooks is wanted in connection to a rape investigation that occurred April 12, 2018 in Holton. Hooks is described as having black hair, brown eyes, 507 and 240 lbs. The incident is being investigated by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Holton Police Department. A reward is being offered for information that leads to the capture of Hooks. If anyone has information in regards to Hook’s whereabouts, they are asked to contact Sheriff Tim Morse at 785-364-2251.
