Matthew John Shipley

Law enforcement seeking Topeka man

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of Matthew John Shipley, 33, of Topeka. Shipley was initially sought after an incident at the Jackson County Courthouse this morning in Holton. Shipley is reported to have fled on foot from the Courthouse. Shipley was later seen in the morning on the southern side of Holton. The Sheriff’s Office put out an alert asking citizens to lock their vehicles and homes. Shipley is believed to be homeless and may try to find an outbuilding, vehicle or house to enter to keep warm. Shipley is also reported to be an absconder with the Kansas Department of Corrections. Shipley is 507, 155 lbs. He is described as having a full beard, wearing black pants, black hat and jacket (unknown color). Subject is not known to be violent.
