MISSOURI COUPLE ARRESTED ON TRAFFIC STOP
On September 19th, shortly before 9:30 p.m. a Jackson County Deputy stopped a Pontiac passenger car with Missouri plates for a traffic infraction just off of US Hwy 75 and Banner Street in Holton. The driver, Carrie Coleen Roberts 36, of St. Joseph, Mo and the passenger, Gregory Gene Wright Jr. 48, of St. Joseph, Mo, was taken into custody during the stop. Deputies seized drug paraphernalia and a substance believed to be methamphetamine. An assortment of identification and financial cards, a variety of collectables, a large sum of U.S. currency, and the vehicle were either seized or impounded. Both subjects are currently awaiting bond in the Jackson County Jail. Roberts is being charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, 3 counts of possession of mislaid property, driving while suspended, no insurance and transporting an open container. Wright is being charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, 3 counts of possession of mislaid property. Jackson County Investigators are working with Missouri authorities in respect to the items seized from the vehicle.
