RAPE SUSPECT CAPTURED

A Netawaka man is now in custody on a variety of sex related crimes involving a minor child.  Scott James Buchheit 35, of Netawaka was taken into custody by Jackson County Authorities earlier this evening.   Buchheit is believed to have left the farm north of Netawaka where he resides this afternoon on a stolen maroon colored 2014 Polaris Ranger side by side UTV. Area agencies searched for Buchheit this afternoon and evening. Buchheit contacted the Topeka Police Department after seeing himself on the evening news. Jackson County Authorities took Buchheit into custody at the Plaza Inn Motel on south Topeka Blvd. The stolen Polaris Ranger was located in a garage at 2036 NW Tyler in Topeka.   Buchheit is being charged the following: 3 counts aggravated criminal sodomy, 5 counts of rape, 2 counts of criminal sodomy, 3 counts aggravated indecent solicitation, 2 counts indecent solicitation and felony theft. Bond in the matter is pending at this time.
