Holton man in custody following domestic altercation
JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that on Monday evening, June 12, 2023, an aggravated domestic battery suspect was captured following a manhunt south of Holton. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a man beating a woman in the 22000 Block of Q. Road south of Holton shortly after 5:30 P.M. The male suspect allegedly fled on foot in a wooded area. The Sheriff’s Office sent out an alert to warn residents to secure their doors and vehicles. Deputies started a search using a drone which located the suspect in the wooded area. An aircraft from KHP and a K-9 Team from Topeka Police also assisted with the incident. The suspect was taken into custody and was identified as Daniel Markus Martin, 30, of Holton around 7:30 P.M. Monday evening. Martin was booked into the Jackson County Jail with the following charges: aggravated domestic battery, felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement and felony interference with law enforcement.
