Texas man booked into the Jail by KHP following fatality accident

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) – Sheriff Tim Morse reports that a Texas man was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail Wednesday by the Kansas Highway Patrol following a two-car-head on accident near 254th Road and U.S. Highway 75.  The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls reporting the accident at 10:51 A.M. Wednesday morning. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Holton Fire Department and Jackson County EMS responded to the scene. Melinda Wareham, 74, of Whiting was pronounced dead at the scene. North and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 75 were closed with traffic rerouted until after 2:30 P.M. Ayinde Jriel James, 44, of Fort Worth, Texas was arrested for involuntary manslaughter, driving under the influence, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving.
